In fantastic quality and condition this 83 year old English Sterling Silver sovereign case was manufactured by E J Houlston of Caroline Street Birmingham and fully hallmarked as such and date letter stamped for 1939.
Of circular design but with a twist, quite unusual to find, this example has four fluted indentations to which the fine engraving to both front and back radiates towards.
One side is fully engraved and the other bears an uninscribed circular cartouche to which Initials could have and could still be applied.
The inside is also in as fine condition as the outside, with the sprung sovereign bed in perfect working condition.
Quite a feminine example with its gorgeous floral chasing this beauty looks incredible suspended from your favourite watch chain or any chain for that matter!

CONDITION
Very good to excellent vintage condition. No dents. Engraving is crisp. Opens and closes effortlessly. Spring bed excellent. Minor marks to silver only. Gorgeous piece.
