Purchasing Guide & Return Policy
PURCHASING ANTIQUE & VINTAGE PIECES
We absolutely pride ourselves on sourcing the best quality pieces for our customers, with many of our items valued by our registered jeweller/gemmologist. Our collection consists of pieces that are of antique and vintage condition, which means that all our items are secondhand and used. Customers are not purchasing 'new', 'perfect' and 'unworn items', and as such, should expect wear and imperfection. Any condition issues are always extensively mentioned in the condition summary. Please do not hesitate to ask questions prior to purchase.
If required, we will seek the opinion of our independent jeweller/gemmologist prior to sale. Such things as flea bite nicks or scratches commensurate with use may be visible but will always be described in the condition report contained in the product description.
Please bear in mind that photographs cannot accurately capture the luminosity or reflectivity of diamonds and gemstones. Photographs are extensions of the written description and should be examined carefully.
It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that these descriptions and pictures are carefully viewed and any questions are asked prior to the transaction taking place.
We are more than happy to provide additional pictures to support the descriptions provided. Please note that we keep an extensive catalogue of photographs taken using our Nixon Macro lens camera of all items available and sold. In addition we can provide videos, available upon request.
The buyer accepts that in fulfilling the payment of the purchase, they have inspected and accepted the quality of the item(s) having viewed the quality pictures and detailed description prior to the purchase.
RETAIL REPLACEMENT VALUATIONS
Unless otherwise stated our jewellery does not come with a valuation, appraisal or certifications. If a valuation or a physical document is included in the purchase this will be clearly mentioned in the title and or body of the description.
POST PURCHASE
Once an item leaves our inventory and is in the possession of its new owner, Graisons Fine Jewellery does not cover wear and tear incurred by the new owner and is not responsible for such wear and tear, post purchase modification or resizes that the new owner wishes to pursue.

In the unlikely event that any of our items have been grossly misdrescribed please contact us at welcome@graisonsfinejewellery.com upon receiving the item to discuss. Contact is required within three (3) days of receiving your purchase, after this time we can not guarantee any remedy of potential issues as it has been in the possession of the new owner and any damage incurred is out of our responsibility.
POST PURCHASE CARE & MAINTENANCE
Please be very careful when choosing a jeweller to carry out such work including cleaning. Unfortunately not all jewellers have the expertise or experience to work with antique or vintage jewellery and therefore may make suggestions that could significantly comprise the integrity of settings and or stones.
We strongly advise that any unnecessary work such as modifications, re-cutting antique stones, heavy cleaning or polishing that may result in irreversible damage or destruction of antique pieces is completely avoided. As collectors ourselves, we would be inclined to question the necessity of work suggested that may change the value and integrity of any antique piece of jewellery. While it is the final decision of the new owner whether they pursue such options we are not responsible for any loss of value or changes that are made post purchase.
RETURNS
If a return, repair, exchange or store credit note is necessary due to an item being grossly misdescribed, arrangements to return the purchase for our assessment must be made within three (3) days of confirmed delivery.
All materials (ring boxes, packing inserts, cards etc.) MUST be returned with the jewellery item. If for any reason a return has not been arranged and posted within seven (7) days of confirmed arrangement we reserve the right not to accept the return unless contacted prior.
The costs incurred for returning an item is the responsibility of the customer. All returns are to be express posted to us using an express box not a satchel. Please ensure that a picture is taken of the box prior to shipping (and postage receipt is retained) for security incase any loss or damage is sustained during delivery.
If we assess a returned item and confirm it was accidentally grossly misdescribed, we will approve the return and negotiate resolution depending on the issue identified, whether this be a repair at our expense, exchange for an item of equal purchase price, store credit of the purchase price or a full refund of the purchase price. Returns received without authorisation and notification will not be eligible for a refund.
Please note, we do not accept return items that have been resized or altered from the condition in which we had sold them. We cannot control, endorse or be responsible for the quality of other tradespeople. Graisons Fine Jewellery reserves the right to refuse a refund if any criteria outlined above has not been met.
