Dating to around the late 1930’s to early 1940’s this sweet 18ct yellow and white gold ring was manufactured by one of Australian leading jewellery manufacturers - ‘Rodd’.
George Rodd established his workshop in 1919 and began making trophies and medallions soon expanding into cutlery and jewellery.
By the 1930's Rodd was the leading manufacturer of jewellery in Australia. He used the trade name Apex until the firm became a limited company in 1948 when the name changed to Rodd.
Crafted in 18ct yellow gold and designed as a wedding style band with 18ct white gold segments in architectural stepped style, flowing to an 18ct yellow gold band which still shows faint traces or ornate etching to the shank.
This little piece of Australiana could make a wonderful stacking band or perhaps a sustainable alternative for a wedding ring?
