The origins of the ’Star and Crescent’ as an iconography symbol dates back as far as 300 BC, in the Greek colony of Byzantium. This symbol has been used in various historical contexts, including a prominent symbol of the Ottoman Empire.
Both elements have a long history in the iconography of Ancient Near East, representing either the Sun or the Moon or the Moon and Venus. In the later 20th century, the star and crescent acquired a popular interpretation as a ’symbol of Islam’.
We have always been drawn to the symbolism that particular jewellery designs/motifs represent, this ring is definitely no exception. Highly wearable, this ring is smooth and comfortable on the finger, its bright rose gold hue compliments the sparkle of the diamonds effortlessly.

CONDITION
Good pre-owned condition. No thinning to ring throughout, quite substantial. Despite the Diamond clarity they do sparkle and look really lovely against the soft rose gold hue. Impressive and unusual ring on the finger.
