Antique 8ct Rose Gold Grey/Black Spinel Double Headed Serpent Ring
An exotic and stunning double headed Serpent ring which is presenting as a bit of a mystery!
Crafted from 8ct rose gold (stamped as such with an old style 8ct stamp) which would indicate an origin of Germany or Denmark where 8ct gold has been the minimum gold standard, and we believe would date to the early to mid 20th century .
Rosy gold in hue and set with an array of rough-cut dark grey gems in closed backed style, these gems are similar to antique cut three faceted rose-cuts seen in very early jewellery. Our first instinct was black diamonds but upon testing and assessment by our gemmologist we believe they are natural Spinels (Spinels come in a range of colours).
Stunningly attractive on the finger with a width at the widest of 1.2cm, the two Serpent heads lay flat and perfectly position across the finger in all their glory.
A solid and wide half round shank keeps this unusual ring perfectly comfortable and stable on the finger.
For those who, like us, that appreciate the unusual and seldom presenting jewellery, this one is for you!
