Superb Antique Victorian Bohemian Garnet Necklace - Circa 1890
Dating to the late Victorian era we have this superb Bohemian Garnet pendant necklace and its original flower cluster necklace with floral garnet set clasp.
Crafted from traditional ‘Tombac’ or garnet gold as its was also called and set with an array of various sized rose-cut Bohemian garnets it multi tiered style.
The central three tiered round cluster is large at 2.4cm and is set with an array not round and pear-cut rose-cut luscious Bohemian Garnets, all original and beautifully set.
Dropping below in articulated fashion is a further pear drop, and the necklace suspending both is a very pleasing 43cm in length and closes with a stunning box clasp in the form of a further rosette garnet cluster.
Antique Bohemian garnet jewellery is set in closed back settings - each little garnet would’ve a piece of foil underneath to enhance brilliance, and therefore must never be immersed in liquids!
In remarkable condition, all the garnets are original, no replacements, re-glues or chips.
Striking beautiful around the neck this piece of Victorian jewellery is a must for the collector and Garnet lover alike.
Please note foil backed/closed backed jewellery must never be immersed in water or cleaned in an ultrasound.

Patina here and there to Tombac, noting for accuracy only, a lovely pale uniform soft rose colour. A beautiful example of Victorian Bohemian Garnet jewellery.
