Vintage Australian Silver And Enamel ‘Blue Bird Of Happiness’ Brooch Circa 1950-70’s
A charming vintage piece of iconic Australian jewellery, as popular today as it was decades ago, a large ‘Bluebird of happiness’ brooch.
Crafted from Silver and stamped as such, with lovely blue guilloche enamel in fine detail, and a darling hint of yellow enamel to the Bluebirds breast.
A particularly large example measuring 5.5cm in length x 2cm wide, this charming Australian piece certainly brings back memories for us!
The origins of symbolic Bluebird jewellery dates back to around the late Victorian era - (see link below for information) and were given as love tokens to sweet hearts and sometimes worn as ’something blue’ on a wedding day.

Very good to excellent vintage condition. No losses to enamel. Pin in in gold tone metal for strength, original, and C clasp original, no repairs. Some patina to silver. Lovely vintage Australian pieced.
