Expertly crafted from solid 9‑carat gold and weighing an impressive 9.78 grams, this ring has a wonderfully substantial feel on the hand. At its centre sits a breathtaking synthetic green Spinel of approximately 19.8 carats, glowing with a vivid, almost electric green hue. 

Under ultraviolet light, this gemstone comes alive with an incredible neon fluorescence, a phenomenon caused by the presence of chromium. When UV light hits the chromium ions, their electrons jump to a higher energy state — releasing that unmistakable, radiant neon green glow.

Even in natural light, this Spinel dazzles with its bright, saturated colour, and it remains in exceptional condition — free from chips, abrasions, or facet wear indicating this ring has spent little, if any time on the finger. 

The Spinel is held very securely in a multi‑claw setting framed by up-flowing shoulders of sweeping, leaf‑like tendrils of gold that curve elegantly around the stone, creating a design that feels both organic and sculptural.

Excellent preowned condition.  This is a ring that presents in almost, if not new condition.  The Spinel is in excellent order, no facet wear, no chips or abrasions.  A substantial and very well made ring, weighted perfectly and feels very comfortable on the finger.  No damages, no thinning to shank, no wear to the stunning gold work to shoulders.  No issues to note. 

ABOUT SYNTHETIC SPINELS, AND URANIUM GLASS 

Both synthetic green Spinel and Uranium glass exhibit a striking bright green fluorescence under ultraviolet (UV) light, often described as vivid or "neon" green. This similarity arises from a shared underlying physical mechanism: the absorption of high-energy UV photons by dopant ions, which excites electrons to higher energy states.

Synthetic green spinel glows bright green under UV light due to chromium (Cr³⁺) doping in its crystal lattice (MgAl₂O₄).  

When UV photons hit the chromium ions, electrons jump to a higher energy state. As they return, they emit vivid green light (~510–550 nm) — the same wavelength range as uranium glass, creating a strikingly similar neon glow.  

This intense, uniform fluorescence is a hallmark of lab-grown spinel, especially flame-fusion types, and helps distinguish it from natural stones, which rarely fluoresce this strongly.
