Vintage 9ct Gold ‘Etui’ / Thimble Case By Philip Kydd Ltd. - London Hallmarks 1987
Superb 9ct solid gold egg shaped Etui or Thimble case, or ‘Pill box’? crafted by Philip Kydd Ltd., quite possibly a bespoke commission piece.
Egg shaped, with engine turned pattern to top and bottom with highly polished rims and top and bottom terminals.
Hinged to open, revealing a highly polished interior, to which a small Thimble, or treasured momento could reside, or perhaps as occurred to us, this wonderful solid gold objet d’art could be repurposed into a special ring box?
Fully hallmarked for Philip Kydd Ltd. Gold & Silversmiths, manufactured in London, and date letter stamp for 1987.
