A rare and exciting piece of Victorian ingenuity in the form of a ‘rotating’ compass fob pendant.

Crafted from rich 15ct rose gold with highly detailed engraving and trefoil style motifs, and a fine double row of tiny bead granulation around the central perimeter, this slightly oval shaped fob pendant ‘rotates’ ingeniously when raised to the face to reveal a fully working compass!

This piece would’ve been worn on a wealthy persons fob watch chain - hanging down - and to impress ones peers during the Victorian era - raised to the eyes and to the amazement of all the beholders the compass would magically appear effortlessly!

A substantial piece of jewellery, in immaculate condition, the compass glass pane is clear and undamaged and the compass spinner and cardinal points are fully visible.

As perfect for the travel enthusiast today as it was 100 plus years ago, this incredible piece of jewellery is a delight to behold.
