Distinct from the more commonly seen slender or torpedo-shaped examples, this striking pair is beautifully bold in both design and presence.

Measuring a very impressive 5.5cm drop from the ear, and over 2.7 cm at their widest point, they are wonderfully face-framing and make an unmistakable statement when worn.
Each earring is suspended from silver ear wires—likely bearing subtle French touch marks— which suspends the initial piqué drop then to the articulated dramatic main drop, which features an exquisite double row of gold and silver floral and concentric circular work.
The craftsmanship is truly outstanding. Executed in traditional Victorian piqué work, each piece has been meticulously inlaid by hand with intricate patterns of gold and silver set into a rich, dark ground. This highly skilled technique involved carefully embedding fine metal into the surface, creating detailed motifs that have stood the test of time.
Remarkably, every element of the inlay remains intact, a rare and impressive detail for pieces of this age.
