Modern 18ct Yellow Gold South Sea Pearl Drop Earrings
Dropping a full 4.2cm from the ear these lush and very elegant earrings are beautifully crafted, not too light and not too heavy in the ear and make quite the statement when worn!
The most coveted and sought after Pearls in the world the South Sea Pearl like other saltwater oysters is bead-nucleated, however the growth period is approximately 2 to 4 years unlike ahoy pearls which develop in less than half that time.
South Sea Pearls have a thicker nacre, as over the years the oyster continues to wrap the Pearl nacre creating a thicker nacre which creates more luster in the Pearl.
Skin imperfections or lack there of can effect the value of the Pearl, the less imperfections of course the higher value.
These Pearls do show ‘inclusions’ or ‘blemishes’ on the Pearls seen under scrutiny, however Pearls are organic in nature and each any every Pearl is individual!

Very good to excellent preowned condition. Ear wires are solid and strong. Pearls are beautiful, a metallic pearly grey in colour. Pearls have natural blemishes seen in most South Sea Pearls.
