Gorgeous Vintage 9ct Yellow Gold Moss Agate Ring

A little landscape captured in stone, this beautiful vintage 9ct yellow gold moss agate ring combines wonderfully intricate natural inclusions with an equally charming decorative setting.
Measuring approximately 13.7mm x 9.6 mm, the oval moss agate displays delicate, branching formations in deep forest green, olive and near-black, suspended within a softly translucent, misty grey body. A warm ochre-toned accent adds another layer of interest, creating the impression of mossy woodland and tiny fern-like fronds beneath the stone’s smooth, polished surface.
The beautifully domed cabochon lends depth to these captivating details, while the open-backed setting allows light to pass through the more translucent areas, illuminating the fine inclusions and revealing their intricate patterns. There is so much to admire as the ring moves through the light, with each angle offering a slightly different view of its miniature landscape.
The moss agate is framed by a smooth yellow gold bezel, edged with a delicate twisted-rope border. Beyond this sits a wonderfully decorative scalloped surround, its gently curling, ribbon-like goldwork forming an airy, openwork frame around the stone. The combination of polished curves, fine texture and little pierced openings gives the setting a lovely sense of depth and vintage charm.
Look to the sides and you’ll discover particularly sweet fan-shaped details nestled at the top of the open, divided shoulders. Their fine lines resemble tiny shells, adding a thoughtful decorative flourish beneath the setting before the shoulders flow into the yellow gold band!
