Gorgeous Antique 18ct Yellow Gold Diamond & Pearl Cluster Ring – Birmingham 1919

A wonderfully romantic antique 18ct yellow gold diamond and pearl cluster ring, dating to 1919 and bearing a full set of Birmingham UK hallmarks — a beautiful survivor from the closing years of the Edwardian era and the beginning of the Art Deco period.

At its centre sits a beautifully bright round old European cut diamond, measuring 1.57mm or approx 0.020ct, its crisp white sparkle forming a lovely contrast against the warmth of the yellow gold. The diamond is encircled by six creamy pearls, each displaying a soft, gentle lustre and arranged into a charming floral-style cluster. The combination of diamond and pearl gives the ring that wonderfully delicate, feminine character so loved in jewellery of this period.
The detailing continues beautifully through the shoulders, which feature ornate pierced and scrolling foliate work, creating an almost lace-like appearance as they taper gracefully into the slender yellow gold band. These decorative shoulders frame the central cluster beautifully and give the ring far more presence on the finger than its delicate proportions might suggest.
Fully UK hallmarked for 18ct gold, Birmingham 1919, this gorgeous antique ring presents in beautiful condition. Condition
This beautiful antique ring presents in wonderful antique condition, having clearly been wonderfully cared for over its lifetime. The central diamond is free from chips and abrasions, while the six pearls display a lovely creamy-white lustre. The shank remains beautifully strong and substantial, with clear, crisp UK hallmarks still well preserved. The claws securing the pearls are strong, and the bead setting surrounding the central diamond remains secure.
