A wonderfully wearable piece of Australian opal jewellery, this gorgeous contemporary 9ct yellow gold ring centres on a beautiful solid Coober Pedy white opal, framed by a wonderfully substantial sweep of polished yellow gold.
The oval opal measures approximately 7.81mm x 6.00mm x 2.92mm, with an estimated weight of 1.54ct, and displays a particularly pretty play-of-colour across its softly luminous white body tone. As the ring moves through the light, flashes of aqua and sky blue, vivid green, sunny yellow, soft pink and touches of warm orange appear across the surface, giving the stone a completely different character from one angle to the next. The stronger blue-green flashes are especially striking, while those little hints of pink, yellow and orange add a beautiful warmth.
The opal is securely bezel set, its smooth polished surround complementing the ring's wonderfully sleek, low-profile design. Small raised, sculptural gold accents sit above and below the opal, adding just enough detail to break up the broad polished surface while retaining the ring's clean, contemporary feel.
A round brilliant-cut diamond is flush set into the gold on either side of the opal, giving a subtle touch of sparkle without competing with the colour of the centre stone. The diamonds are F colour, VS clarity, and are approximately 0.010ct each or 0.02ct total diamond weight.
Generous across the finger, the ring measures approximately 1.02cm wide at the front, gradually tapering to approximately 4.25mm at the rear. Despite its substantial appearance, the beautifully low-rise setting sits neatly against the finger, making this a particularly lovely piece for everyday wear. There is something very easy and effortless about it — substantial enough to make a statement, yet wonderfully comfortable and uncomplicated on the hand.

Presenting in excellent pre-owned condition. The solid white opal remains beautifully preserved, with no chips or abrasions noted, and the bezel and surrounding goldwork remain strong and secure. The diamonds are securely set and the broad tapered band has a lovely substantial feel.
