In Australia during the early 20th century, these were also known as ‘’Nellie Stewart bangles originating from the famous Australian actress and singer who was a major style influencer in her day!
As for how the name “golf” came about, the exact origin remains a little uncertain - rumoured to either be given as prizes in early ladies’ golf tournaments or perhaps just ‘the must have’ for ladies golfing attire!
Regardless of the name origins, these bangles have become iconic due to their wearability and chic simplistic design and will remain a jewellery must have for centuries to come!
