Art Deco / Retro Solid Platinum And Diamond ‘Bow Tie’ Ring Circa 1920-1935
Crafted in quite hard to source ‘Bow Tie’ style exemplifying the Art Deco aesthetic of strong bold geometric lines, triangles and stylish symmetry, with a bit of the fanciful, a bow-tie motif.
Platinum became a strategic metal with the outbreak of WWII, used for the use of armaments, and was forbidden for use in jewellery manufacture, which, conveniently dates this one prior to 1939. And boy .. did they go to town when they crafted this one! A very solid and hefty 8.38 grams, no expense was spared!
Centred with another Art Deco favourite, the baguette cut diamond, weighing an estimated 0.34ct, and to the ‘bow’ sections a total of sixteen small single cut diamonds.
Of excellent colour and clarity (G-H and VS/SI) the crisp white lively diamonds and the sleek opulence of the Platinum are absolutely fabulous combined.
Quality through and through this ring screams Gatsby-like glamour and is a must for the Art Deco connoisseur, or anyone who adores having a ring like no other!
