Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Long Guard ‘Muff’ Chain Circa 1880
Formed as a series of elongated oval belcher links and measuring a fantastic 150cm which allows this one to double AND triple around the neck with ease.
Each Sterling silver link has an internal metal rim which was used on only the best chains and this method was used to prevent wear to the link and it has served its purpose well as this chain is in very very good condition showing no thinning nor repairs.
A simple Sterling dog-clip in perfect springy order allows you to style this chain in many interesting ways or use it to suspend your favourite pendant or locket.
A lovely weight of 33.8 grams.
