Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Bookchain Collar And Locket - 1876
Sumptuous Victorian Sterling silver fancy bookchain and locket dating to the late Victorian era, the locket is hallmarked for 1876 and manufacture by Horace Woodward & Co.
The book chain is also Victorian and may or may not be original to the locket, its irrelevant as they suit each other perfectly.
Increasingly hard to find with the associated extension drop, this one not only retains hers but the two large bolt ring clasps also!
Pierced detailing to the fancy book chain collar is simply stunning.. the tiny cut out stars are lovely and this entire chain can be worn to the reverse if desired as the tiny stars and solid silver panels look almost as beautiful as the front!
The locket is large - 6 x 4cm including the bale and opens to reveal two compartments with her original silver rims to which two photos can be placed if desired.
Not too heavy and cumbersome around the neck this very elegant and wearable Victorian beauty weighs an ideal 42 grams.
Ideal for any occasion day or night, these necklaces will never go out of style.
