Impressively large in proportions this huge late Victorian locket commands attention when ever it it seen!
Measuring a commanding drop of 6.7cm including the top ring by over 4cm wide, this large oval hinged opening double sided locket is suitable for not only a treasured photo or two, but also can be used as a desirable ‘shaker’ locket!
A substantial and quality made piece weighing over 21 grams, crafted in rolled gold in heavily chased patterned design to both the beautiful oval substantial frame and the heavy gauged and large top ring, which features a hinged mechanism.
Opening easily from the bottom of the locket and closing with a satisfying click, this lovely piece of Victorian jewellery may not be ‘solid’ gold, but the next best think in heavy rolled gold which was very common in this era in quality jewellery which has stood the test of time!

CONDITION
Very good to excellent antique condition. No losses to rolled gold/gold fill, bright and beautiful. Heavily chased/engraved pattern shows no wear or fading. Top bale is heavy, solid and thick, will accommodate a large chain or one or two dog clips. One tiny 1mm flea bite to outer rim of glass (casein or similar) pane, almost imperceptible to the eye, noting for accuracy only, no other marks or scratches. A large and beautiful opening double sided locket!
