The piece showcases the classic piqué technique: rich gold inlay (with subtle silver accents) hand-embedded into polished tortoiseshell. Artisans softened the shell with heat, then painstakingly pressed in fine gold and silver strips and pins to create the stunning honeycomb border and delicate oval motifs.
It fastens securely with a classic C-clasp and sturdy pin on the reverse.

Very good to excellent antique condition. There is no missing gold or silver inlay, stunning condition. Original C clasp and pin to rear, closes securely. No damages to tortoiseshell.
