Antique Victorian Gold *Cased* Carnelian Anchor Fob Seal Circa 1890
Dating to the late Victorian era this large and impressive nautical themed Fob Seal features as its main motif a large anchor representing safety and steadfastness. Often also symbolising a ‘moving forward from a place, or, point in life embarking on a new journey in the way a ship sets sail’.
Large in its proportions standing 3.6cm tall and the oval base, which is set with a beautiful orange hued oval bevelled edged Carnelian, measures 3.0cm x 2.5cm.
Curvaceous scrolls encircle the down facing anchor to both sides and gentle tiers encapsulate the Carnelian base.
We have added (donated) one of our favourite gold filled antique bolt rings to this Seal as it is as if it was made for it and will accommodate a largish gauge chain. Remove it as desired as it is a very versatile piece and can be used on many pieces of jewellery.

CONDITION
Good antique condition. At some time in history the top small loop has been gold soldered which can be seen but has been done well and is now very very secure. Minor loss here and there to gold casing, noting overly significant. Carnelian is lovely, no chips or scratches. Imposing piece of jewellery which looks stunning on a chain.
