Please note, boxes and chains are for display only unless otherwise stated.

A rare and unusual example of Victoria Etruscan jewellery dating to the late Victorian era circa 1870-80s.

Crafted from 15ct yellow gold and designed as an opening round sphere/orb, cleverly hinged at the top, with applied rope-work and stunning pierced ‘Star’ motifs throughout.

A lovely size measuring a large 1.6cm round, this fantastic Orb opens to reveal a large space suitable for any treasured momento you desire, we believe originally a solid ‘scent’ would have been inserted and this fantastical piece of jewellery would have been used as a Pomander!

Bright, beautiful and unusual, this antique piece looks divine worn on a simple chain or add it to any bolt ring or dog-clip with your other favourite antique charms/pendants.

CONDITION
Good antique condition.  Under close scrutiny a few tiny areas of the applied ‘rope-work’ is either missing or never applied?, no marks remaining as evidence of loss? Opens and closes very securely.  Top hinged mechanism has been reinforced some time in its history, GOLD solder was used, not silver!  First jump ring appears original to this piece, second jump ring is a later addition and 9ct gold.  A wonderful and interesting piece of Victorian Etruscan jewellery.
