Antique Victorian Edwardian 15ct Yellow Gold ‘Dove’ Brooch - Circa 1890-1910
We have had some stunning and highly symbolic Dove and Swallow brooches, and this one is certainly no exception! Crafted from bright and buttery 15ct yellow gold and designed as a Dove in downward flight with outstretched wings and the sweetest open beak expression.
Strikingly crafted with the finest detailing throughout that we have seen in an example of this quality, this large 5.5cm x almost 3.0cm brooch is superb.
To the rear we find the original strong C clasp and pin, and miraculously the original safety chain and quality safety pin with ball detail for ease of use - a further sign of quality.
Given the placement of the small ring to the rear to which the safety chain is attached, this exquisite brooch could be very easily converted to a pendant, and, already hangs perfectly with no drooping forward - an easy conversion!
Stunning in condition, versatile and utterly beautiful this piece is a must for the serious collector.
