Antique Victorian Bohemian Garnet Locket And Garnet Cluster Chain Circa 1890-1900
Crafted from traditional ‘Tombac’ or garnet gold as its was also called and set with an array of various sized rose-cut Bohemian garnets it multi tiered style.
To the rear of the locket there is a hinged glass compartment and also a C clasp and pin enabling this beauty to be worn as a brooch. The hinged bale and associated fitting allows the locket to be removed and worn as a brooch while also allowing the necklace to be worn separately.
Striking beautiful around the neck this piece of Victorian jewellery is a must for the collector and Garnet lover alike.

CONDITION
Good antique condition. Necklace has no replacements to garnets or chips. A small repair in antiquity to rear of bale and central flower, very well done and secure. Locket has two to three tiny replacements seen under scrutiny. All other garnets are lovely, no reglues or replacements seen.
Locket compartment does not ‘snap’ shut but remains closed due to brooch pin holding it down. Minor and very early re-solder re-enforcement seen to rear of compartments, very stable and secure, cant be seen from front. Box clasp to necklace is secure.
