Antique Sterling Silver Match Safe Vesta Case - Birmingham 1904
Fine quality antique Vesta case crafted in Sterling Silver hallmarked for manufacture in 1904.
Hallmarked for manufacture by Henry Matthews and assayed at the Birmingham office with full hallmarks as such.
Engraved with a particularly pretty foliate pattern in vertical banner style to both front and back, and to the centre of the front panel a shield shaped with the initial’s ‘WP’ in very intricate style.
Measuring a very wearable and quite large 4.4cm x 4.0cm, this heavy piece - 31 grams - would make a lovely ‘keep sake’ to which treasured momento, dried flowers or perhaps a secret note could be inserted and worn close to ones heart!

CONDITION
Very very good antique 119 year old condition. Minor marks to silver only, no dents. Lid opens and closes with a tight snap. Original heavy gauge sterling silver jump ring, also stated with lion passant, is, present. Lovely large and heavy case.
