Always poignant these Memorial Mourning rings were distributed at a funeral commemorating the passing of a loved one to be worn in memory of the deceased so that they could keep their loved one close to them always.

This ring bears the name and day of passing for Joshua Collins - aged 76 - 21st March 1815.

Crafted from rich and buttery 22ct yellow gold and marked with the lion passant used during the Georgian era to denote 22ct gold and with London date letter for 1814 - this ring would have been modelled in preparation by the jeweller and enamelled with the deceased’s particulars upon request of the family.

Wide at 8.82mm and a nice weight at 6.01 grams this example has seen some wear over its 208 years of life.  We have chosen to leave it as it is however there are skillful enamellers that can restore these rings if desired.
