Antique Edwardian Australian 9ct Gold Bamboo Bangle By Willis And Sons Circa 1905-1910

Highly sought after antique bamboo bangle by one of our best early Australian jewellery firms Willis And Sons.
We are especially partial to these bangles and have a small collection already otherwise this large and impressive example would be staying with us!
Crafted from 9ct rose gold with the textured swirling scrolled alternating panels with a yellow hue which would have had a gold wash applied when crafted approximately 120 years ago.
Larger than the average and often seen slim examples, this one measures an impressive 1.0cm to 1.2cm in width commands a large and noticeable presence on the wrist.
Hefty at 22 grams (these bangles always have a wax filling for extra durability) with a very secure and discrete push in box clasp which functions perfectly.
Highly sought after and for good reason these superb antique ‘bamboo’ bangles were all the rage over 100 years ago and are just as popular today as in times gone by.

CONDITION
Very very good antique condition. No dents or dings however we believe a safety chain may have been removed early in this bangles life, under very close scrutiny/magnification there appears to be buff marks where the joined loops have been removed. Push-in box clasp works perfectly, very secure. One tiny hairline separation of seam in one spot only.. this is very very stable and noting for accuracy only, very hard to see. No other issues.. a lovely antique Australian bangle which with care will last another (several) lifetimes!
