Antique Edwardian 9ct Yellow Gold Garnet And Seed Pearl Fringe Necklace Circa 1910
Drawing inspiration from the Rococo period, Edwardian jewellery design is renowned for its intricate and more delicate style. Changing necklines in women’s fashion sparked the beginning of pendant and gemstone set chains, fringed examples such as this effortlessly stunning piece were incredibly popular choices.
Featuring nine round faceted Almandine Garnets deep in colour, in graduating style, each suspended from its own diamond-shaped top set with a delicate seed Pearl.
Falling softly against the collar bones, the chain measures a pleasing 41.5cm.
The entire piece is in wonderful condition, we imagine it has been seldomly worn and lovingly stored for safe keeping.
A stunning piece of jewellery design history, this would make a gorgeous wedding day gift or perhaps a treasured family heirloom.
