Please note, boxes are for display only unless otherwise stated.

A sweet reminder of a time gone by this charming double sided locket is as wearable today as it was 100 plus years ago.

Crafted from 9ct rose gold which has been bloomed or ‘coloured’ as our UK counterparts would say, to give that charming mix of rich rosy/yellow gold hues we all adore.

Designed as a double sided photo locket with the top ornate bale acting as the ‘screw’ mechanism allowing the two hard plastic frames to be removed and your own photo of a loved one placed inside.

The 9ct gold frame is lovely, ornately scrolled with a floral type pattern for the full circumference, and stamped with not only a 9ct hallmark but also a patent number for this particular design (makers mark indistinct).

A lovely size at 3cm round, and with the top bale a drop of 4cm, this charming antique locket is waiting for a new treasured momento/photo and to be seen and admired once more!

**Please note this piece is a photo locket and cannot be used as a ‘shaker’ locket.  The original hard plastic frames are every so slightly mobile in the gold frame, this can be remedied with the right amount of plumping out with thin card to support a chosen photo.

STONES
None

MEASUREMENTS
4cm drop with top bale - 3cm round

WEIGHT
5.82 grams with plastic panes

MARKS
9ct and a patent number 2976
Tested as 9ct gold

CONDITION
Good antique condition.  Bale screws on and off well and is secure.  Original hard plastic panes (2).  Panes move within the frame slightly as these lockets were designed to have hard paperbacked photos inside to ‘plump’ out the panes, over they are secure and function as intended.  Once removed there is a small chip to one pane which sits inside the frame and cannot be seen.  No dents to gold frame, frame is both a rosy gold and yellow gold due to ‘blooming’ or a gold wash, this is lovely and gives a nice antique look.
