This antique Edwardian 15ct yellow gold photo locket, dating to circa 1905–1910, is the epitome of understated elegance from an era known for its delicate refinement and sentimental charm.

Designed to mimic a classic pocket watch—perfectly in keeping with Edwardian taste for subtle, sophisticated keepsakes—it opens to reveal a single spacious photo compartment framed by its original rim and protective hard plastic pane. Slip in a treasured portrait, a lock of hair, dried flowers, or (as we’ve playfully styled it here) your favourite tiny gemstones to transform it into a delightful “shaker” locket that sparkles with personal meaning.

The front dazzles with fine engine-turned  patterning—those hypnotic, light-catching concentric lines—framed by an exquisite scrolling ornate border that feels almost Art Nouveau in its graceful flow.

At the very centre sits a tiny round cartouche delicately inscribed with the initials RC, the reverse mirrors the beauty: matching engine turning and the same intricate scrolled edging.

It closes with a satisfying, secure snap and hangs from a sturdy bail, measuring a graceful 4.2 cm drop overall, with the locket itself  3 x 3 cm and a pleasing weight of 9.25 grams—substantial enough to feel luxurious, yet light and wearable all day.

If you’re seeking a vintage treasure with history, craftsmanship, and endless ways to make it your own—this charming 15ct gold locket is simply irresistible!

CONDITION
Very good to excellent antique condition. A finely made piece, substantial and well crafted.  The engine turned patterning and associated border scroll work is lovely. To the rear - non monogrammed side - there are a couple of tiny pinpoint impressions only, mentioning for accuracy.  This locket opens and closes with a satisfying and secure snap. Inside locket compartment is easy to remove to insert your own photo, dried flowers or gems to use as a shaker locket. Inside locket compartments show old jeweller marks, perhaps testing marks, insignificant. Hinge is in excellent order.  Top bale shows no thinning.  No issues to note.
