Antique Early 20th Century Bohemian Garnet Pendeloque Drop Earrings Circa 1920-30’s
An utterly luscious pair of antique Bohemian garnet earrings dating to the first few decades of the 20th century circa 1920-30’s.
Modelled as large articulated drops with post fittings and butterfly backs for pierced ears with the top surmount consisting of three Bohemian garnets, suspending in articulated fashion the main drop which is three dimension tiered in style.
The plum red Bohemian rose-cut garnets are luscious in colour and set in claw settings and the back in Tombac or ‘Garnet gold’, which is an alloy of cooper and zinc used to imitate gold and very commonly used in Bohemian Garnet jewellery during this era.
Dropping a wonderful 3.5cm from the ear and weighing a substantial 7.2 grams, these fine pair of earrings make a gorgeous stamens when worn.
