A little side step for us with this one as our lane is of course jewellery, but gold is gold.. and we love it in any shape or form!

We have had this 1916 half sovereign assessed and XRF tested so please read below for all the details.

Physical Description:

A gold coin (19 mm diameter with milled edge) featuring a bare head of King George V facing left; around, GEORGIVS V D.G. BRITT: OMN: REX F.D. IND:IMP: below on the neck truncation in tiny letters the artist's initials B.M.. The reverse features St. George on horseback holding short sword, the horse rearing to right over a fallen dragon which has a broken lance in its chest; in exergue, the date, 1916 and the artist's initials B.P. The mint mark S is in the ground above the middle of the date.

Obverse Description:

Bare head of King George V facing left; around, GEORGIVS V D.G. BRITT: OMN: REX F.D. IND:IMP: below on the neck truncation in tiny letters the artist's initials B.M..

Reverse Description

St. George on horseback holding short sword, the horse rearing to right over a fallen dragon which has a broken lance in its chest; in exergue, the date, 1916 and the artist's initials B.P. The mint mark S is in the ground above the middle of the date.

CONDITION
We are not coin dealers or experts.  This coins appears to be in very very good condition.  There doesn’t appear to be any wear to milled edges, and only very minor marks seen to coin itself even under loupe magnification.  Please see photos for condition and don’t hesitate to ask us for further info.
