Pristine late Art Deco era Diamond ring by well known Australian jewellery firm Dunklings dating to the late 1930’s to early 1940’s.

“Dunklings is one of the better known retail jewellery of Melbourne.  The business began trading in 1893 as Dunkling and Silberman at 471 Elizabeth Street”.

Crafted from 18ct yellow gold and platinum and hallmarked as such, and featuring a 0.25ct solitaire brilliant-cut diamond SI1 and colour H-J. (Assessed in setting).

The diamond features a very secure eight claw setting in raised coronet gallery to suspended raised detailed platinum shoulders to a D shape 18ct yellow gold shank.
Hallmarked clearly with ‘W19D’ for William Dunkling and ‘Plat’ for platinum.

Beautifully made this little Australian treasure would not have been cheap to buy in its day and would have retailed originally as an engagement ring.
