A wonderful antique piece beautifully crafted in Waidhofen an der Ybbs in Lower Austria and hallmarked clearly as such.

Crafted during the late Victorian to early Edwardian era circa 1890-1905 and designed as a lucky three leaf clover set with three stunning faceted heart-cut Amethysts and tiny natural half seed Pearls.

Not all antique fine antique jewellery is ‘solid’ gold… this is a misnomer which sadly has mislead many over the years.. some believing anything less than solid carat gold ‘must be fake’.. well, this simply isn’t true. Jewellers worked with many mediums in their craft and catered for a diverse clientele with various levels of financial prosperity not dissimilar to what we see in todays climate! Let’s compare chain store jewellery with Van Clef & Arpels perhaps …!

This beauty is very well crafted in silver with ‘gold plating’ over. Each stunning Amethyst is multi-claw set, large at approx 10mm x 8mm, and to the centre and stem we find natural half seed Pearls complimenting the Amethyst perfectly.

Hallmarked with Austro-Hungarian hallmarks (see below) which precisely attribute this piece to manufacture between 1872-1922, an alphanumeric ‘A3’ indicating the stamp for the control office in Waidhofen an der Ybbs - Austria.

A suitable collectible for many tastes, those who adore Amethysts, clovers and heart-cut gems and many more!
