This early preciously beautiful ring dates to the early to mid Victorian era circa 1845-55.

Crafted from rich hued 15ct yellow gold and centrally set in an open back setting we find an oval faceted Garnet weighing approximately 1.00ct (7mm x 5mm).

Surrounding the Garnet are four antique cut diamonds in combination crimped and claw settings and ‘three’ emerald-cut Emeralds (a fourth is a past replacement, read condition report below).

All of the above is bordered by highly detailed ribbon-like scroll work and tiny bead detailing, the shoulders display open scrolled symmetrical work, typical of the early Victorian style and the shank is fully engraved with fine detailing.

Finger hugging, low rise and very comfortable, this early 170 year old ring, once on the finger, draws the gaze with its fine craftsmanship and beauty emanating from every angle!

CONDITION
Very very good antique condition. As mentioned one ‘emerald’ has been replaced with what appears to be paste cabochon sometime in history, noticeable in photos but much lees noticeable to the naked eye.

All other emeralds and diamonds are original, and in good condition, two minuscule nicks to the emeralds seen under x10 loupe only, eye clean. Diamonds are free from chips or damage. Almandine Garnet is lovely, no chips or abrasions even under loupe. No repairs to ring itself, very good order, no thinning or weakness.

Engraving to band is crisp with only some wear to very verso of shank. A lovely early ring in very good condition for its approximate 170 plus years.

Please note boxes are for display only unless otherwise stated.
