Victorian two-tone 9ct rose and yellow gold Cornucopia fob watch charm/pendant with slider.

History of the Cornucopia

The Cornucopia was carried by the Roman goddess Fortuna (Greek: Tyche), the personification of luck, suggesting this charm was likely intended to top up the good luck of its owner, as well as bringing the usual abundance and nourishment.

Cornucopia comes from Latin cornu copiae, which translates literally as "Horn of Plenty." A traditional staple of feasts, the cornucopia is believed to represent the horn of a goat from Greek mythology. According to legend, it was from this horn that the god Zeus was fed as an infant.

They body of the Horn is in rose gold with delicate floral accents in yellow gold to the wide border on a textured ground and a further raised yellow gold band to the base of then horn. Topped with a sweet little round Pearl, quite unusual to see an example with a Pearl.

A double foxtail chain with a freely sliding slider with textured gourd and further floral accents in yellow good moves fluidly up and down the chain.

Topped with top ring to pop your favourite slim chain through to wear this gorgeous piece as a pendant.
