Antique Edwardian 18ct Yellow Gold And Diamond Snake Ring - Circa 1910

Steeped in symbolism dating back as early to the Ancient Greek civilisation, the Snakes ability to shed its skin has always been admired as a symbol of transformation, immortality, and healing.
This fine and heavy example is crafted in 15ct yellow gold and modelled as a wide, triple coiled Serpent (to the front, double at rear), with a wide flat head, raised eyes and an adorable open mouth with tiny tongue peeking out.
Five old Mine-cut diamonds in graduated sizes, bead claw set, adorn his slightly curvaceous head.
A wide ring at 1.2cm at the widest point and tapering to a double coiled rear shank at 5.5mm, low rise and very comfortable on the finer.
In our opinion a Snake rings face is all important… and this little guy has the sweetest face, with a gorgeous profile!

N or 17.1mm when measured on mandrel and with calipers - feels more like an M 1/2 on the finger. Could be resized by a competent jeweller up 2-3, down 2 with any competent jeweller.
CONDITION
Very very good antique condition. A substantial ring with no thinning. Diamonds are bead claw set, all claws original and in very good condition. No chips to diamonds, one is quite irregular in cut consistent with antique cuts, noting for accuracy only.
