Bold and beautiful mid century Amethyst ring crafted in 14ct yellow gold centring a large emerald/scissor cut Amethyst weighting approximately 14cts.
Prettier than the common emerald or rectangular cuts the ‘scissor’ facets to the pavillon give this Amethyst a pop of extra sparkles!
Eight pointed claws hold this large gemstone securely and give a strong and almost brutalist vibe to this ring, the juxtaposition of the fancy cut pretty Amethyst combined with the claws is an wonderful design characteristic.
Rounded curved quadfurcated shoulders flow to a grooved shank and all these features work seamlessly together.

CONDITION
Very good vintage pre-owned condition. Substantial and hefty ring. Amethyst shows no chip, and only very minor surface marks seen only under loupe magnification. Claws are strong and secure, one claw pointy tip isn’t as pointy.. this has been looked at by our jeweller under high magnification and assessed as not broken just different than the others! No thinning to shank. Gorgeous ring.
