Rare Vintage Designer 14ct White And Yellow Gold Diamond Hans Hansen (Denmark) Interchangeable Ring
A fabulous and incredibly hard to source Designer ring by Hans Hansen and designed by Gail Spence (American born Danish jeweller and designer).
Designed by Gail Spence and crafted by Hans Hansen - Silversmithy, Kolding Denmark, prior to 1992 when the Hans Hansen company merged with iconic Georg Jensen.
Crafted as a unique interchangeable ring crafted primarily from an open worked 14ct white gold diamond set ring (which can be worn alone if desired!), and a 14ct yellow gold fully hallmarked and signed Hans Hansen ring which simply slips inside the 14ct white gold ring with such ease and security its hard to comprehend the ingenuity!.
The 14ct white gold ring is set with a dazzling 0.14ct bright round brilliant-cut diamond - G-H colour and SI Clarity.
If that is not enough this fabulous piece is accompanied by its original five interchangeable coloured bands - purple, green, slate grey, red and blue - which almost give you a rainbow of colours to be worn almost every day of the week!
Hans Hansen (1884-1940) was a goldsmith who began his own firm in Golding, Denmark, around 1906. He built a reputable flatware business before moving into jewellery design and production. In 1914 his son Karl-Gustav Hansen joined his fathers business, and in 1940 upon the death of his father, took over the business.
Karl Gustav Hansen, along with other notable Danish jewellery designers Bent Gabriel Pedersen and Bent Knudsen, re-defined his fathers business with sleek, modern designs. The firm then merged with Georg Jensen in 1992.
A fabulous ring presenting very rarely to the preowned market (only one other available to our knowledge and research for $3000 AUD), which will suit the Danish jewellery collector or anyone desiring a ring no one else will have!
