This exquisite Antique Large Georgian 9ct Yellow Gold Engraved Split Ring, dating back to circa 1820-30, is a testament to the craftsmanship of the Georgian era (1714-1837). Despite its age, this piece has remarkably retained its beautiful and deep engraving, showcasing the intricate artistry of its time.
With no stones to distract from its elegant design, this super sized split-ring measures 2.67mm in thickness, with an internal diameter of 20mm and an outside diameter of a huge 2.4cm.
Weighing in at heavy 4.64 grams, it is a substantial and well-crafted piece, tested to confirm its 9ct gold purity, though it bears no visible marks.
Sized as a U on a mandrel (equivalent to a US size 10 1/4), this split-ring is in excellent condition, can be worn in the finger if desired ! with no issues to note.
It is a large and heavy example, well-made and very strong, with engravings that remain deep and unworn.
Although it has been polished a bit too much for our liking, (why do jewellers do this ?!), it will soon develop a charming aged patina once again, enhancing its antique allure.
This remarkable piece is a perfect blend of historical significance and timeless beauty.

CONDITION
Excellent condition. A large and heavy example, well made and very strong. Engraving is deep and showing no wear. Our jewellery has unfortunately polished this one too much in our opinion, but it will take on an ‘aged’ patina soon!! No issues to note, a remarkable piece.
