DESCRIPTION (Please scroll to the bottom to view video)
Crafted by VOLMER BAHNER (1912-1995) a Danish designer and artist in approximately the 1960’s.
Volmer was renowned for his enamel jewellery and started a company which was registered as such from 1962 to 1988.
This stunning example is representative of his Art Deco themed pieces and is stamped ‘VB’ and STERLING DENMARK which was his hallmark.
Modelled from Sterling Silver and guilloche enamel in distinctly Art Deco style with each tear-drop panel featuring the prettiest coloured green enamel which perhaps could be described as ‘mint’ green? What ever the hue may be it is luminous and shines with hints of paler green vertical lines shining through.
Measuring a generous 41cm in length with a typical Scandinavian style ‘lozenge and loop’ clasp which is a very secure clasping style this true ‘designer’ piece of jewellery sits flat against the neck.
Such a rare and beautiful example of Danish jewellery, this piece will not disappoint.
