Impressive not only in style but size and weight too!
Modelled from 14ct yellow gold and weighing a substantial 8.6 grams this ring centres an oval faceted Smoky quartz measuring approximately 16 x 12 x 7mm or approximately 7.50ct.
Set in a rub over bezel setting, stepped to a larger oval solid frame to a slightly raised open gallery to wide flat slightly curved shoulders extending to an also wide flat shank.
The Smoky quartz is pale in hue with at times in certain lighting conditions an almost peachy golden tone.
Commanding a large presence on the finger this beauty is hard to tear ones eyes away from.
‘The Greeks referred to quartz as krystallos, meaning “ice,” and this name is the origin of the word crystal. Citrine (yellow to orange), amethyst (purple), rock crystal (colorless), smoky (brown to gray) and rose (pink) are some of the most common varieties of quartz’.
Sometimes known also as a Smoky Citrine, please see below some interesting information about Smoky Citrine http://geogallery.si.edu - https://geogallery.si.edu/10002935/quartz-var-smoky-citrine
