One of the largest and most impressive examples of a man-made color change sapphire ( sometimes erroneously called synthetic Alexandrite ) that we have had the pleasure of offering.
Measuring a large 1.8cm in diameter, the secure four claw set round faceted
Sapphire exhibits a hard to describe teal hue which of course changes dramatically to a vivid Amethyst purple under certain lighting conditions.
Set in a raised open-work scalloped gallery to pointed tapered shoulders to a nice thick half round band.
Modelled in rose gold which tests as approx 16cts! and is stamped ’16’ to the outer rear of the shank.
This is an incredible ring, a show stopper and draws compliments when ever she is seen.
Lab colour change Sapphire
Rise from finger 8mm
’16’ - tested as approx 16ct rose gold
O or 17.5mm diameter or US 7 1/4
Very good vintage condition. Facets are crisp and clear except for one very tiny flea bite to outer girdle. Claws very secure. No evidence of previous resizing.
Exhibits a nice colour change.
