Vintage Australian Silver And Guilloche Enamel ‘Bluebird Of Happiness’ Brooch Circa 1950-1970’s

Dating to the 1960’s to 70’s this all original and utterly charming brooch features the ‘Bluebird of Happiness’ in guilloche blue enamel and crafted from Silver.
The origins of these symbolic Bluebirds dates back to around the late Victorian era - see link below for information - and were given as love tokens to sweet hearts and sometimes worn as ’something blue’ on a wedding day.
Measuring a wonderful large 5.5cm x 2.2cm in length, beautifully enameled in still bright and iridescent shades of blue guilloche enamel with delicate yellow highlights to his breast and darker blue to wind and tail tips.

Very very good vintage condition. Enamel is lovely, no losses, however under x 10 loupe there is a small enamel imperfection near eye, this is not damage and would be original to the manufacture, noting for accuracy only. Pin and C claps original, pin is in gold tone metal typical of the era. No repairs.
