George Rodd established his workshop in 1919 and began making trophies and medallions soon expanding into cutlery and jewellery.
By the 1930's Rodd was the leading manufacturer of jewellery in Australia. He used the trade name Apex until the firm became a limited company in 1948 when the name changed to Rodd. This piece would date to the 1940’s.
This charming little Equine themed brooch by one of our early and well know jewellery firms ‘Rodd’ is a must for the Equestrian!
Crafted from 9ct yellow gold, modelled as a bar brooch in the form of a riding crop and finely detailed to his handsome face.
Secure C clasp and pin to verso and original safety chain and pin keep this lovely Australian piece secure.

Very very good vintage condition. No damage or repairs. Original pin is ‘gold fill’ for strength. Looks like gold, C clasp is secure and original. Lovely condition for its approximately 70 years.
