Vintage Australian 9ct Yellow Gold And Pearl Screw Back Earrings By Dunklings Circa 1930-1940’s
An utterly charming pair of vintage Retro era earrings by Australian jewellery firm ‘Dunklings’, accompanied by their original leather and velvet box.
Crafted from 9ct yellow gold and designed for non-pierced ears with screw-back fittings and each is set with a lovely large 8.5mm creamy cultured Pearl with golden undertones.
‘Screw-back earrings were originally popularised in the early 20th century, most notably during the 1920s. However they did not become extensively fashionable until the mid-twentieth century during the 1940s and 1950’s’.
Accompanied by their original blue velvet lined fitted box with ‘Dunklings Melbourne’ to the silk lined inner compartment.
Perfect for those without pierced ears, these charming all original Australian earrings not too heavy and look absolutely divine on the ear!

Excellent vintage condition. These earrings appear to have been worn seldomly, if at all. Screw backs work perfectly. No issues with Pearls, a lovely almost gold/cream in hue. Box is in very good condition for its age, a couple of minor marks here and there, closes very securely with a nice snap.
