Large and impressive vintage (approx 74 years old) 9ct rose gold ring by well known Australian jewellery firm ‘Rodd’.
Crafted as a traditional shield shaped signet ring however this particular example has the most wonderful deeply chased ornate shoulders more often seen in in much earlier antique rings!
Solidly made and with a showy presence on the finger measuring 1.3cm x 2.0cm across the finger with the original owners monogram of ‘J S’ this wonderful piece of Australian jewellery could be just the ring you are looking for!
History of George Rodd
George Rodd established his workshop in 1919 and began making trophies and medallions soon expanding into cutlery and jewellery.
By the 1930's Rodd was the leading manufacturer of jewellery in Australia. He used the trade name Apex until the firm became a limited company in 1948 when the name changed to Rodd.
