A truly captivating pair of vintage 9ct yellow gold synthetic colour-change sapphire earrings, showcasing one of the most beautiful and pronounced colour changes we have had the pleasure of offering.
A synthetic colour-change sapphire is a lab-grown sapphire with colour shifting abilities. Colour-changing sapphires generally change from a blue-purple hue to a deeper true violet shade.
Each generously sized faceted stone measures approximately 1.05cm x 1.37cm, with an estimated weight of around 6.80 carats each, creating wonderful presence on the ear.
Their beautifully faceted oval-cut facets catch and reflect the light superbly, revealing rich flashes of purple and violet before transforming, under indirect light, into the most remarkable deep bottle-green hue. The effect is incredibly mesmerising and far more striking in person than photographs or video are able to capture — genuinely one of the finest examples of colour change we have seen.
Each stone is securely held within an eight-claw 9ct yellow gold setting, complemented by a lovely open-work under-gallery. The pierced gallery not only adds attractive detailing when viewed from the side, but allows light to enter the stones beautifully, further enhancing their colour, depth and lively faceting.
Finished with traditional threaded posts and secure butterfly backs, the post backs are very strong.

Presented in gorgeous vintage condition. Each colour-change sapphire remains beautifully and securely held within its setting, with all claws strong and positioned securely around the stones. The open-work under-gallery is also in lovely condition, with no thinning or repairs noted to the settings.The posts remain straight, strong and secure, while the butterfly backs are also in wonderful condition. The sapphires themselves are in beautiful condition, with no chips or notable abrasions observed, allowing their wonderful faceting and colour change to present beautifully. Overall, a gorgeous pair of earrings!
