Vintage 9ct Yellow Gold Sapphire and Diamond Bridge Ring Birmingham 1978
Please note, boxes are for display only unless otherwise stated.
Arranged across the elongated bridge-style face are three natural oval-cut sapphires, graduating gracefully in size towards the principal centre Sapphire. The central sapphire measures approximately 5.2mm x 3.9mm, with an estimated weight of 0.45ct, flanked by two smaller sapphires measuring approximately 3.6mm x 3.2mm and estimated at 0.20ct each. Together, the sapphires have a combined estimated weight of approximately 0.85ct.
Four tiny round brilliant-cut diamonds provide subtle points of sparkle between the Sapphires, beautifully complementing their deep blue tones without detracting from the strong colour of the Sapphires.
The ring is particularly lovely when viewed from the side, where the elevated bridge setting reveals an intricate pierced and scrolling gallery beneath the gemstones. The ornate openwork continues into the shoulders before meeting a smooth, solid yellow gold shank, giving the ring plenty of character while remaining comfortable and practical for everyday wear.
The ring face measures approximately 1.46cm x 0.62cm, with a relatively low rise from the finger, creating an attractive profile that sits beautifully on the hand and making this a great everyday ring!
Fully hallmarked with UK hallmarks for assay in Birmingham, including 375 for 9 carat gold, the Birmingham anchor assay mark, and the date letter ‘D’ for 1978. It is additionally stamped ‘P & RB’ for P & R Bushell.
Presenting in lovely vintage condition, this beautifully detailed ring is wonderfully wearable and ideal as an everyday piece!

Condition
Very very good vintage condition. Sapphires are lovely, with only inconsequential facet wear under x10 loupe magnification, noted for accuracy only. All are well set and very secure; the claws are original and in excellent order, as are the tiny diamonds which are free from chips or abrasions. Shank is solid, on thinning, hallmarks are very crisp and clear. A really lovely everyday ring!Explore Our Collection
